Better New Zealand

From EverybodyWiki Bios & Wiki

Better New Zealand is an unregistered political party in New Zealand. The party advocates lower taxes, the removal of excise duties from petrol, alcohol and tobacco, and the legalisation of cannabis.[1][2] It opposes any action on climate change.[3] The party is led by Daniel McCaffrey, a former candidate for the New Zealand Labour Party and member of the party's "backbone club" during the 1980s.[1]

The party planned to have a full party launch in mid-2019,[1] but a June 2019 post on the party's Facebook page stated the party "would not be under action" until October 2019.[4] As of April 2020, the party remains unregistered.[5] It did not apply for a broadcasting allocation for the 2020 election.[6]
