Bhimarjun Acharya (Nepali:भीमार्जुन आचार्य) is a Nepali scholar, writer and analyst specializing in comparative constitution and constitutional law[1][2]. Noted in the Nepali legal fraternity for his forte in constitutional law and issues[3], he has authored number of books and articles[4][5] including the Fundamental Rights in the World Constitutions, the book which is prescribed for University syllabus of LL.B and LL.M program was first published in 2008[6][7] . His another book 'Concept of Judicial Review' has been listed as the best judicial book for 2020 by Nepal Bar Council[8]. Aside from that he is also known as Arjun Milan[9] in his literary works.

Education[edit]

Bhimarjun Acharya was schooled from a government school in his home town, Dang. After completing his school, he moved to the capital city, Kathmandu. He has received his B.L.(1996), LL.M (1998) and Ph.D(2008) on the subject of Constitutional Law from the Law Faculty, Tribhuvan University, Nepal. He has studied on human rights from the International Human Rights Academy-2004, the Utrecht University, the Netherlands.

Career[edit]

He started his career as a lawyer by establishing his own law firm, Alliance Law Firm in Kathmandu. He previously taught jurisprudence at Kathmandu School of Law, PU from 2011 to 2016. He also delivers lectures on contemporary legal and constitutional matters at Nepal Law Campus, Kathmandu.Since 1996, he has been practicing[10] law in the Supreme Court of Nepal . Having written more than 20 books on constitution, law and political issues[11] he specializes in comparative constitution and constitutional law.[12][13][14]

He has been quoted and mentioned in several news reports and interview of several media, including Reuters,[15][16] BBC Nepali,[17] The Kathmandu Post,[18][19][20] The Himalayan Times,[21][22][23] etc. on law, politics and constitutional issues of Nepal.
