Kul Bhushan Yadav (also spelled Kulbhushan Yadav or Kulbushan Jadev) is an Indian national arrested in Balochistan over spying for Research and Analysis Wing.[2] He is believed to be a commander-ranked officer in Indian Navy.[3][4]

Pakistan claimed that Yadav entered Pakistan illegally via Iran, and was involved in subversive activities in Balochistan and Karachi.[5][6] However, Indian MEA said that though Yadav was an Indian Navy officer who retired prematurely, but he has no link with the government.[5][7] The Indian High Commission has also sought consular access to Yadav.

Pakistan in the past have been voicing concerns over India's involvement in terrorist activities inside Pakistan[7] but this is the first instance of New Delhi acknowledging the arrest across the border of an individual associated with its armed forces.[5]

Arrest[edit]

Yadav was arrested near the Pakistan-Afghan border region of Chaman, Balochistan.[5][6]
