Biju Yuva Vahini is a sub scheme of Biju Yuva Shashaktikaran launched by Government of Odisha to promote volunteerism ,leadership and a flourish lifestyle through sports and social action intervention,To encourage youth to take part in social welfare projects & Community engagement activities to bring sustainable change socially.,[1] The applicant must be age of 15-35 has cleared at least matriculation exam and can apply through online[2][3]

Objectives[edit]
- To motivate youth to take part in social activities and welfare .[1]
- Promote active participation in social projects and community engagement activities.[1]
- Engage the youth between ages of 15-35[1]
- Target youth involvement through Sports,Social,Art and culture programmes across the state[1]
- Promote healthy lifestyle amongst the youth.[1]
Overview[edit]
The budget of the scheme is 450/-crore for three years & 7279 accounts have been opened.[4] Under the scheme the state government has planned to recruit as many as 8000 biju vahini in 6800 gram panchayats and 120 urban local bodies.Allotment of 1.5 lakhs per annum for each Yuva Vahini & financial assistance of 15,000 to each member[5],around Rs 2 crore would be spent in providing sports equipments to 393 vahinis with member of over 18,000 initiate in the district[6].The programme would attempt to promote feature of good activities,develop national character,personality development,fellowship among the youth,it encourage various social activities in panchayats, ULBs through street plays,awareness campaign,observation of important days and camps.[7],The state government also create green environment through this scheme by planting over 30 lakhs saplings in odisha,around 2.5 lakhs Biju Yuva Vahini volunteers across 30 districts in odisha taken part in the plantation drive.[8], a total of 7,141 Biju Yuva Vahini have been formed and 2,51600 have joined in 30 districts of odisha,[9][10]
