Its a flagship Scheme of Odisha State,The Government of Odisha initiated this insurance scheme to provide insurance to lakhs of families engage in kendu leaf plucking and binding.Its a state funding scheme where the state government contributed Rs 8 crore,Approximately 7.8 lakhs leaf pluckers,20,000 numbers of Binders,19 Kendu leaf Divisions will get Insurance,LIC's Janashree Bima Yojna covers insurance of The heads of families of Kendu leaf plucker and Binders[1].The Eligibility of the insurance is from age 18-59.If the insured person die a normal death or an accidental death then person's members of family would get 30,000/- and 75000/- respectively.The Kendu leaf laborer Would get 37,500 incase of partial disability in accident,The state government also giving financial assistance of 1200/- per annum to two children of the kendu leaf pluckers[2]
