Bill Porter (Jersey)

Bill Porter (Born 1990) is a British track and field athlete.

He won a Silver medal at the NatWest 2015 Island Games and is a member of the quartet who broke the Jersey national 4 x 100m record.

At 14, he won the London Youth Games 100m and 200m.

At 16, Porter was SportsAid funded and took part in the Spar Sprints Initiative at Loughborough University. He was ranked 1st in the County of Surrey for U17M in 2006 and was invited to England Athletics developmental training squads across the country. He was also approached by College Prospects of America (CPOA), an NCAA sport scholarship recruitment agency on behalf of several U.S universities to compete in their sport scholarship programme, but later decided to attend Loughborough University in the autumn of 2009, enrolling in Business, Economics and Finance but later graduated in International Relations and Business.

Porter has represented Loughborough University, where he was coached by former international 400 metres runner Jared Deacon, alongside training partners Richard Kilty, Emily Diamond, Hayley Jones, Kylie Robilliard and Helena Wong.

Porter is also the founder and director of Island Groceries, the Channel Islands first online grocer and home delivery service.
