Billie Bodega (born June 17) is an American actress, writer, and producer.[1] She began her career as a child actor, appearing in television series such as 7th Heaven, Zoey 101, and the Disney Channel program Movie Surfers.[2][3][4]

In addition to her work in film and television, she has released original music as an independent solo artist.[5]

She is the co-founder and Chief Executive Officer of Oread Entertainment, an independent production company based in Venice, California.[1] Bodega has worked across film, television, and music, and is known for developing prestige, genre-driven and auteur-centered projects.

Early life and education

Bodega was born in Santa Monica, California, to musician Randy Jackson and interior designer Eliza Shaffy. Her mother is of Persian and Azeri descent, and her father is African American. She attended The Buckley School in Sherman Oaks, California from lower school through high school. Bodega began working professionally as a child, appearing in magazines, commercials, print campaigns, and television projects from kindergarten onward.[6]

In 2008, she was admitted to Harvard University. Bodega graduated with honors in 2012 with a concentration in Visual and Environmental Studies (film production), and a secondary field in African American Studies, along with a language citation in Brazilian Portuguese.[7][8] Her senior thesis film, Lucifer’s Music, received highest departmental honors.

Career

Acting

Bodega began her career at age 5, appearing in television commercials and print advertisements for companies including Nike, Guess, Yamaha, Disney, Lands' End, L.A. Parent, and Victoria Magazine. Her first on-screen television appearance was on the sitcom The Tracy Morgan Show in 2003, for which she guest starred in two episodes.[6] She appeared in several episodes of Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 and later in 7th Heaven in 2004.[3][2] In 2005, she became a regular cast member on the Disney Channel series Movie Surfers, a role she held until her matriculation to Harvard in 2008.[4] In 2022, Bodega appeared in Season 2 of Ryan Murphy's anthology series American Horror Stories, starring opposite Bella Thorne.[9]

Music

In 2016, Bodega began writing and recording original music as an independent artist and songwriter. She released her debut single and music video, "Ocean Blues," in 2018,[10] followed by her debut EP, Koo da Ta, later that year.[11] In 2019, she released the single "Numb," with a music video directed by Bill Yukich.[12] In 2020, Bodega co-wrote and co-produced the single "Like Woah" producer Tommy Tamagotchi,[13] which debuted in the top 40 of iTunes R&B/Soul Charts in Latin America. A remix of "Ocean Blues" (Mykonos Remix) later charted on Dance/Electronic platforms internationally.[14]

Producing and Oread

In 2025, Bodega co-founded Oread Entertainment, a film and television production company based in Venice, California.[1] As Chief Executive Officer, she develops and produces narrative projects in collaboration with her business partner, Freya Adams. Bodega writes across multiple genres, including horror, biographical drama, and psychological thriller.

Personal life

Bodega is based in Los Angeles, California. She is an animal rights advocate, a vegetarian since birth, and has adhered to a strict vegan diet for more than a decade.
