Billy Kedian
Billy Kedian was an Irish Army soldier. He died May 31, 1999, via mortar shot from the Israel-backed SLA militia.
A native of Ballyhaunis, County Mayo, Ireland, Kedian was serving with the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon when he was killed in an exchange of fire between the South Lebanon Army (Israeli-backed Lebanese Christian militia) and Hezbollah guerrillas in Braachit, Lebanon.
Kedian was a member of the 85th Battalion, and had arrived in Lebanon six weeks earlier.
He was buried in his hometown on Monday, June 7, 1999, survived by his parents, Doris and Bill, and his sisters Mary and Ann.
