Bingus is an internet meme based on multiple online images and videos of a hairless Sphinx cat which originated from a video in which he is pet while staring at his owner in March 2020 on Instagram. A few months after his debut on Instagram. Bingus’ popularity exploded in September 2020 after he appeared in a series of viral internet posts, which later resulted in online users referring to all Sphynx's as "Bingus".
