Jarrett Crider

Jarrett Crider is 23 years old. He is from Morton, IL. His parents are Jennifer and Greg Crider. He has two sisters named Isabella and Elyse Crider. He is very interested in fitness and wellness as he has been active his whole life. Jarrett loves sports as he has played football, basketball, and baseball his whole life. He also majored in education and plans to get a PE endorsement as well as coach football or basketball.

Early Life

Jarrett Crider was born on October 31, 2000. He moved a couple times growing up as his dad, Greg Crider, was a high school basketball coach at a couple different places. Morton and Tremont are where he lived mostly until his family settled down in Morton when he began school. Jarrett went to Lincoln Elementary school from 1st to 6th grade. He started playing travel football, basketball, and baseball in 3rd grade where he made most of his friends. He would hang out with the friends he made through sports. Their favorite things to do were watch sports, play outside, and play video games. From there, he attended Morton Jr. High School for grades 7 and 8. He played for the school's basketball, football, and baseball teams there. His baseball and basketball teams each went to state.

High School

Jarrett attended Morton High School starting in 2015. There he played football and basketball. As a freshman he played on the varsity team for both sports. He would go on to earn All-Conference, All-Area, and All-State honors for both sports. Playing sports was his favorite part of high school since he played with all of his friends he grew up with. A couple of his closest friends were Tag Grampp and Nolan Donald, who were also very good football players. In school, his favorite subject was always math. Jarrett ended up skipping a grade of math to be in the advanced class a year older than him. His younger sister, Elyse, had also started to play sports such as track and soccer so he would go watch her play a lot, including winning state for track in junior high.

College

After high school, Jarrett Crider decided to attend North Central College. There he played football and initially was undecided on his major. It was not until his sophomore year that he finally decided to major in education. During his freshman year of college, he quickly made many new friends through being on the football team. Will Kettlekamp would go on to become one of his best friends and roommate. Football went very well his freshman year too. He quickly gained an important role as a starter on the team. They would lose only one game all year and eventually win the national championship. Sophomore year would end up being a very strange year as COVID would affect things. There would be no season and to make things worse, he suffered a torn hamstring. Because of all of this as well as some family issues, he would end up transferring to be back closer to home. Illinois Wesleyan would be his next school and the place he would end up graduating. He played football there for a year before tearing his hamstring again. He would then end up focusing on starting his coaching career. This past fall, he joined the football staff at Morton High School. Jarrett ended up being the assistant varsity offensive coordinator. The team ended up going 8-2. While coaching, he was completing his final semester at IWU, which was full-time student teaching at Tremont Middle School. On December 8th he had completed the semester and earned his degree in elementary education.

Currently

Jarrett has recently gotten an apartment with his long-time best friends Tag and Nolan. He is currently working at Seasons restaurant as a server and bartender. He is taking this class to get the credits he needs to have his PE endorsement, which he plans to use to get a job for the next school year.
