History[edit]

In February of 2014 the company purchased and deployed Alberta’s & Saskatchewan's first bitcoin ATM.[1] Originally Bitcoin Solutions, the company later changed its name to Bitcoin Well and went public on the Toronto stock exchange in 2021.[2]

Company[edit]

Bitcoin Well differs from traditional cryptocurrency exchanges as it uses a non-custodial business model, which means that the company never holds client funds on their behalf; the customer holds and controls their own bitcoin.[3] Bitcoin Well operates a network of over 160 Bitcoin ATM's across Canada.[4] Partnering with Athabasca University, Bitcoin Well developed a free certificate educational course surrounding the basics of Bitcoin.[5]
