BlackBuck is an Indian technology-enabled trucking company. It is one of the largest trucking logistics companies in India and globally and has been described as an Uber for Trucks.[1]

BlackBuck was founded as Zinka Logistics Solutions Private Limited in 2015 by Rajesh Yabaji, Chanakya Hridaya and Ramasubramaniam B.[2] [3]

The company is presently at Series C stage[4] and has raised over $107 Million from leading investors including IFC, Tiger Global, Sands Capital, Accel Partners and Flipkart.[5] [6]

As of 2018, BlackBuck has scaled to 1000+ employees, 1000+ locations, 200,000+ trucks and 8500 SME and corporate clients including Coca-Cola, Tata, Aditya Birla, Unilever, etc.[7] [8]

BlackBuck makes trucking digital. It tracks freight logistics data across India using machine-learning algorithms to provide real-time predictions and optimal match-making.[9] [10]

The company offers multiple applications for shippers as well as fleet operators and truck drivers.[11] It has multiple business lines including for fleet operators to access key services like electronic tolling, cashless fuelling and tolling, working capital credit, insurance and IoT innovations. The company has partnered with the World Bank and the Indian government on key policy initiatives impacting this sector, such as the new uniform Goods and Services Tax and digital Electronic Way Bill to reduce transit time and facilitate freer movement of goods and services in India.[13] [14]

BlackBuck won CNBC-TV18’s “Young Turks Startup of the Year” award in 2018.[15]
