Black Bud
Synopsis:
Sanya, a rebellious contemporary girl but a poet at heart, escapes her strict orthodox father's house in search of a new life. She ends up being a keep of Sultan, a don from Kurla who turns highly emotional in her obssession, Muse of Mehmood, a boycotted, infamous artist and the companion of a crook who is intelligent and good looking. All three try to induce her in their emotional, sexual and financial high. While, her acts continue to spare that little time and space for herself where she can just be.
The film is about clash of these four desires and its consequences.
Character Sketches:
Sanya malhotra is a 26 years old rebellious girl who has left her house and come to Mumbai. In Mumbai she becomes the subject of a don’s emotional needs, sexual passion of an artist and mode of financial gains for a crook. Where as Her conflict for her own time and space continues. Sanya is played by Himarsha Venkatsamy.
Mehmood khan is an infamous artist. He is a womaniser on a sexual journey which he began from the age of nine and believes Sanya is his destination. Mehmood Khan is played by Atul Kulkarni.
Das is a heartless crook born in the dirt of Dharavi with no identity no existence. Killing a drunk taxi driver gave him a chance to step into the city life but he didn't stop there. After several attempts of getting into the circle of Don Sultan Pathan he gets to be his driver. He figures Sanya is a weak link and decides to use her for a big financial gain. Das is played by Praveen Sirohi.
Sultan pathan is a 52 yrs old don of a small locality called kurla in Mumbai. Never fallen in love before, his emotinal dependancy on Sanya is just the beginning of his obsessive journey of expectations from her. Sultan Pathan is played by Amol Kale.
Bhave is a politician involved in black market of diamonds and real estate is a business contact of Sultan. The diamonds he smuggles interconnects the wants of Mehmood, Sultan and Das. Bhave is played by Vipin Sharma.
