Blacksnipe Entertainment (or Blacksnipe Records) is a talent management company and record label founded in 2009 by Nollywood actor Cyril Ogwu[1] and his brother, Frank Ogwu.


Blacksnipe Entertainment otherwise known as Blacksnipe Records is a Nigerian Record label founded on August 19, 2009 popular entertainment intrapreneur,[2] Cyril Ogwu and his brother Frank Ogwu from Agbor, Delta State, Nigeria. According to TalkMedia Africa; Blacksnipe Records is rated as one of the world's foremost right management companies.[3] The label is home to recording artists such as Kosy, Dr.Great, Comedian WhaleMouth.[4] was formerly signed to the label. In July, 2014 the label published an official press release following his departure.[5] As well, in November 2014, the label signed a global music distribution partnership with Australian Music company, KVZ Music. Following another endorsement, in May, 2015 they signed a marketing deal with Sugo Music Group. As part of their entertainment activities, the label officially hosted DEG AWARDS on September 12, 2014 [6] in Nigeria. On September 22, 2015, the label launched its first Album "Am Invisible" by Dr.Great which sold on digital platforms such as Spinlet [7]. On 22 September 2015, Frank Ogwu also unveiled the popular Cameroon born/Belgium based Rapper, Kosy as another signee to the label.[8] On October 6, 2015, the label was reported to have signed an international distribution deal with a Germany-based company, Woytouba Digital for music distribution in Nigeria, Africa and across the globe.[9] Once cited by OtownGist Newspaper, the deal was dubbed ‘the first of many planned elements that will further nurture the Blacksnipe Record label, brand and artists in Africa and beyond’.[10] On April 6, 2016 the label released another single "Rapsody" by Dr.Great which sold thousands of downloads digitally on[11]


Blacksnipe Records was nominated for Best Record Label of the Year at the 2015 Naija Exclusives Music Awards (Nem Awards). The label won the aforementioned category at the 2015 Naija Exclusives Music Awards held in Osun State, Nigeria on December 18, 2015.[12]
