Blake Ridder is a British Chinese actor, screenwriter and film director. He is known for his directorial debut feature film Help[1] and for his 2020 short film Coronavirus. a fictional depiction of a man developing symptoms of COVID-19. Ridder often releases his short films on his YouTube channel.[1]
In 2020 Ridder released "The English Teacher",[2] which Matichon described as "Feels Guilty' or 'Repent".[3]

Ridder released the short film Coronavirus to his YouTube channel in January 2020.[4] It was shot during the COVID-19 lockdown.[5][6] The film depicts a man as he develops symptoms of COVID-19, some of which are entirely fictional, during lockdown.[7] It has been billed as the first short film to have been released about COVID-19.[8]
20 minutos was critical of the short, stating that it was "forgettable but at the same time curious" while also stating that parts of it was "laughable".[9]
