Blockworks is a U.S. based financial information company specializing in cryptocurrency and digital assets, providing news and events for institutional investors. It is headquartered in New York.[1][2][3]
History
Blockworks was founded in 2018 by Jason Yanowitz[4][5] and Michael Ippolito as an events company aimed at connecting institutional investors with the blockchain industry.[6][7][8]
The company later expanded into data and media, offering a research platform, news coverage, podcasts and newsletters for digital asset markets.[9][10][11]
Funding
In May 2023, Blockworks announced a US$12 million Series A funding round led by 10T Holdings, with participation from Framework Ventures and Santiago Santos.[12][13] The funding was intended to support expansion of its research and events operations.[14]
Products and Services
Blockworks publishes daily news, newsletters, and podcasts focused on crypto. Its research division, Blockworks Research, launched in 2022 to provide institutional-grade analysis of digital assets and blockchain protocols.[15][16]
In 2025, the company launched the Token Transparency Framework, an open-source disclosure standard for crypto projects, which it presented to the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission for feedback[17][18][19]
Events
Blockworks organizes Digital Asset Summit (DAS), a conference on institutional crypto adoption. The event has featured political figures, economists, and industry executives as speakers.[20][21][22]
Acquisitions
In 2024, Blockworks acquired The Breakdown podcast and The Drop NFT Media to expand its media offerings.[23][24]
