Blue Rice was a comic strip that ran in the Daily Illini, the student-run newspaper of the University of Illinois at Urbana–Champaign, from 1999 to 2002.[1]
The comic features a mix of main characters with a gnome, snail, bird, mushroom, monkey, man, and woman. The characters are all friends primarily seen drinking at a bar.
In 2000, the first year of Blue Rice comics were published by the Illini Media Company in a book called Rice Rice Baby.[2] In 2011, the complete collection of 294 Blue Rice comics were published on the website bluericecomic.com, along with 20 new comics.
