Board Game Arena (BGA) is a platform allowing to play online to a selection of board games and card games, directly from one's browser, in simultaneous or "turn-based" mode.

The platform is partly collaborative: the translations of the games are done voluntarily by the community, and the games are developed via the online platform Board Game Studio, accessible to all.

History[edit]

In 2016, the entrepreneurial duo was joined by Ian Parovel, who then took over the UX and graphic design of the site. [1],[2]"BoardGameArena - AD2G Studio (company information)". AFJV. Retrieved 2021-01-25.</ref>

During the containment related to the Covid-19 Pandemic, nearly 30 000 people are online simultaneously every day. In a few weeks, more than 500000 members joined the site, reaching 2.3 Millions members by the end of June 2020[3].

By December 2020, the site had 5 million members and nearly 300 games.

In February 2021, Asmodee acquires the platform and the founders announce that the not-yet-adapted games of the new owner will be added to the catalog soon[4]"- Board Game Arena". Board Game Arena. Retrieved 2021-02-12.</ref>.
