Bobby Akart (born 12 December 1955) is an American thriller fiction author. He studied at the University of Tennessee and writes survival thriller novels based upon catastrophic events like the aftermath of nuclear war, electromagnetic pulse attacks, cyberattack, geomagnetic storms, societal collapse, eruptions of a supervolcano, and deadly pandemics. He is a self-publishing author of his works[1] to readers in 245 countries and territories worldwide. He has sold nearly two million books in all formats, which includes over forty international bestsellers, in nearly fifty fiction and nonfiction genres. He has over eighty novels available on Amazon several of which have been optioned for television series and film rights.
He has been ranked on Amazon Charts as the #1 bestselling author in science fiction and thriller genres. He's also been named an Amazon Kindle All Star every month since the award has been bestowed by Amazon. He has been ranked as high as #25 on Amazon Charts list of best selling authors and his novel, Yellowstone Hellfire, was ranked in the Top 25 most sold books on Amazon on multiple occasions. In the Post-Apocalyptic genre, Akart has achieved the #1 ranking with over twenty of his novels, more than any other author in Amazon's history. Every novel he has published has been ranked #1 in the Disaster Fiction genre since its inception.
Television appearances include Beyond Belief with George Noory. Sirius/XM appearances include Coast to Coast AM with George Norry and Midnight in the Desert with Art Bell. While not publicly disclosed, his net worth has been estimated to be in excess of three million dollars.
Akart said in a recent interview, "I use disaster and survival fiction as a way to explore how people can survive a catastrophic event and still find a reason to go on living. Mankind has been telling stories about the end of the world since before the Bible. Why stop now? The world's not ending any time soon."

Background
Akart was born in Knoxville, TN and attended the University of Tennessee, obtaining a Bachelor of Arts degree with a dual major in Economics and Political Science. He pursued his postgraduate education and obtained a Juris Doctor degree from the University of Tennessee College of Law in a combined JD-MBA dual degree program with the Masters of Business Administration.[2]
His first published novel was in June of 2015. Akart is a retired attorney and now full-time author living in the Low Country of the United States with his wife and two English Bulldogs. He has over eighty novels available on Amazon.
