Bobby Wilson is an American politician who is a member of the Pittsburgh City Council. He has served since January 2020 representing Pittsburgh's 1st District.[1][2]
Family and education[edit]
Bobby Wilson was born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. He is a fifth generation North Sider. He attended the University of Pittsburgh where he achieved a degree in political science. [3]
Career[edit]
Bobby Wilson worked at UPMC Montefiore in the emphysema research lab after graduation. While there, Wilson unsuccessfully ran against Darlene Harris in 2011 and 2015 for the District 1 council seat. During his third run he secured a major endorsement by Pittsburgh Mayor Bill Peduto.[4] With the new endorsements, Wilson won the primary against Harris. He subsequently won the general election with 60% of the vote becoming a member of Pittsburgh City Council. [5][6]
