Bongo Maffin
Arguably one of South Africa’s greatest kwaito music groups.
Bongo Maffin was originally formed by a Zimbabwe-born musician DJ Appleseed in 1996.[1]The band then consisted of four members namely Stoan Seate, Jah Seed, Speedy and lead vocalist Thandiswa Mazwai. Together the Maffin group has won several awards yearly from as early as 1999 to 2006, ranking from Best African Pop album to Best African Duo and Group.[2] Despite their 14 year break, the band defied all odds and reunited in 2018 with their new Afro-beat Pop album “From Bongo With Love”, thus not deviating from their original sound.
