BookCoverZone is an English startup book cover design agency and services firm based in Taipei and Istanbul which aims to give authors and publishers, mainly in the self publishing industry, a solution to their design needs. The service offers over 15,000 print-ready book covers in a variety of fiction and non-fiction genres, which can instantly be customized for the specific book title and author. While it serves primarily as a design agency for authors and publishers, the firm has expanded to offer a variety of tools and services over time. Currently, with its BookBuilder it offers a way to easily create ePub files and convert manuscripts to ready-to-be-published PDFs without prior knowledge of desktop publishing software. BookCoverZone has been selected as one of the best premade design agencies for indie authors by online publishing magazine Self-Publishing Review.[1]
History
BookCoverZone was founded by Diren Yardimli, Mike Yardley, Neslihan Yardimli, and Leonora Yardley in Taipei, Taiwan in 2017. Later the design studio was moved to Istanbul, Turkey, to be more in touch with a European audience, while the coding department continued to be based in Taipei. As of 2021, the studio is working with a variety of artists based all around the world, mainly in the USA.
Design Approach
The creative approach is based on WYSIWYG, revised for the digital design realm. In other words, the client can see the design work before purchasing it and can manipulate it online. An advantage of this is that it leaves out the risk of purchasing designs that haven't already been made. This is done through a macro engine, called LiveBuild.
