Bookdealer is an Italian website for buying books online. The most particular thing about Bookdealer is that it allows users to choose from which independent library they would like to make their purchase.

History[edit]

The idea for the site was born during the Coronavirus emergency. Bookdealer was created by Leonardo Taiuti, Mattia Garavaglia, Daniele Regi and Massimiliano Innocenti, business partners in this organization, to help small and independent bookstores, which had already been in crisis for some time due to competition from the giants of the web.[1][2][3]

How it works[edit]

The user searches for the books he wants to buy and adds them to the cart; after which he selects the bookstore he wants to buy from. Delivery can be made directly from the bookstore (cheaper choice) or via a courier. Delivery times depend on the availability of the book, the delivery distance and the type of delivery. Alternatively, the user can also choose the library first, and then select the books he intends to purchase.

In addition, each bookshop has its own page on the site, where it has a virtual showcase and can give books advices to readers.[4][5]
