Born Ready (briefly titled "Born Again" between August and December 2020) is the second studio album by British musician Mark Wolfe. It was released June 12, 2020.
Background[edit]
Wolfe began work on his second studio album immediately following the release of his first. It was originally planned to be an album of covers but these plans changed when The Reapers began working on a new album. Due to time constraints, an EP was instead released on the album's proposed release date titled Under the Covers. This was followed by a second part, Under the Covers II, six months later.
Work began on "Born Ready", an album of original material, in late 2017. Unlike his 2016 album of experimental electronic music, "Born Ready" returns to the electropop sound of his debut album Memento. Wolfe took influence from the albums "Femme Fatale" (Britney Spears), "Hook Me Up" (The Veronicas) and "The Fame" (Lady Gaga).
The album was re-issued under the title "Born Again" two months after its original release. Three original tracks and one re-recording were added to the tracklist. The re-issue reverted to the original title of the album on all streaming platforms in late 2020.
Singles[edit]
"Feels Good to Be Bad" was released as the first single from the album on February 29, 2020.
"Don't Love Me" was released as the second and final single on April 10, 2020. The single was released with b-side "Get Dirty".
"Drive Me Crazy", featuring Nick Walker and a new version of "Feelin' Like" featuring Nia were released as the third and fourth singles to promote the re-issue on August 18, 2020.
