Development[edit]
On February 21, 2018, Trevor Noah will produce the film adaptation of his novel “Born a Crime” through his Day Zero Productions with Lupita Nyong’o, Norman Aladjem, Derek Van Pelt and Sanaz Yamin producing the film.[1] In March 2018, Nyong’o revealed that her Eclipsed director Liesl Tommy was hired to direct the film.[2] On April 16, 2019, Janine Eser was hired to write the script.[3]
Casting[edit]
On February 21, 2018, Nyong’o is set to star as Patricia Nombuyiselo in the film.[1]
