Botswana Television (BTV) is a major free-to-air television network in Botswana and is owned between Ditirang International, The Walt Disney Company, WarnerMedia,ViacomCBS, NBCUniversal, BBC and ITV. Founded in 1943 by George Ditirang and launched in 1944, it is the oldest television network in Africa. It offers local and international programming across its six channels along with a up to the date 24-hour news channel, 4 24-hour sports channels, a channel dedicated to past programming across its networks and a streaming service which was launched in 2014. It is the oldest and highest-rated television network in Botswana, ahead of Kwena Network, BPT, Isago and Zebra.
It is the largest television network in Africa as well, broadcasting popular francises such as The Voice, Idols, Got Talent, 60 Minutes and sporting events such as the Olympics, FIFA World Cup, Rugby World Cup and Premier League. It broadcasts well-renowned international drama programmes such as Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, NCIS, Grey's Anatomy, The Good Doctor and more. Acclaimed international sitcoms such as The Goldbergs, Black-ish, Young Sheldon and more. Reality and competition programmes such as The Bachelor, The Bachelorette, MasterChef, Beauty and The Geek, Dancing with The Stars, Strictly Come Dancing, Britian's Got Talent, America's Got Talent, Making It, Date My Family, Gogglebox and more. Game and Variey programmes such as The Chase, Family Feud, Press Your Luck, Holey Moley, Wipeout, Ant and Dec's Saturday Night Takeaway, Take Me Out and more.
