Box Fresh is a campaign created by The Box Plus Network to highlight new and emerging artists. Box Fresh programming is presented by Vick Hope. Each month, Box Fresh selects a new artist to be their Spotlight Artist of the Month. Content is spread across The Box Plus Network on Box Upfront, The Box, Box Hits, 4Music and on their online digital channel BeBox.

2017 Spotlight[edit]

To officially launch the Box Fresh campaign, four artists were chosen to be their 'Spotlight Artists' who we should keep an eye on in 2017, the hour long show was shown from 31 January 2017 and was broadcast throughout February, each artist performed two of their own songs along with a cover and had an interview with Vick.

2018 Spotlight[edit]

Box Fresh relaunched in 2018 on 3 February with the 2018 Spotlight show, unlike the previous year, the show was 30 minutes and didn't feature any live performances, instead a small recap of 2017's Fresh Focus' was featured, and various musical guests who've been at The Box Plus Network over the past few months gave their own choices on the ones to watch, guests who were interviewed but featured on the list were asked about their past experience with music.

Fresh Focus[edit]

After the launch of Box Fresh, each and every month a new artist is chosen as the Fresh Focus Spotlight Artist of the Month, as with the 2017 Spotlight show, each artist performs three songs (two of their own and one cover) and has an interview with Vick Hope. All performances can also be viewed via The Box Plus Network's YouTube channel, along with a clip from the interview. For the 2017 period, the shows were refreshed on the Saturday closest to the beginning of the month, however from 2018 the shows are refreshed on the 1st of the month instead.

Fresh Forward[edit]

Fresh Forward is a 30-minute, all access pass to the Fresh Focus artist, a tutorial to the most popular hairstyles by Lisa Potter-Dixon (using hair products from Box Fresh sponsor got2b.) and a guide to the latest trends such as music, TV, film, food and drink, popular online websites, worldwide events, festival gossip and exercise crazes.

With the re-launch of Box Fresh in 2018, came a new format for Fresh Forward, focusing more on new music and removing the hair trends, a guest now joins Vick in the studio to discuss their top picks, whether it be on new artists or the latest and biggest hook-ups.

March Kiss FM's Pandora Christie talks to Vick about who she's keeping her eye on, including Sam Fender, IAMDDB, former Fresh Focus Not3s and Mabel. Jax Jones talks about his artist selection process for his tracks and the high flyers he expects will be big.
April Kojo Funds joins Vick to showcase the biggest hook-ups in the music world, including Bruno Mars ft. Cardi B - 'Finesse', Eminem ft. Ed Sheeran - 'River' and his own track 'Check' which included former Box Fresh artist RAYE Mabel gives her view on the topic of hook-ups, including her song Finders Keepers with Kojo Funds and her two collabs with former spotlight artist Not3s.
May Record label marketing 'whizz' Tasha Demi talks through her guide to building an artists brand, she also talks about her top picks in the fresh music world, including Yxng Bane, Not3s (who gives his own opinions on the subject) and Louisa Johnson. Following on from the previous segment, Lousia Johnson gives her views on the topic of being yourself in music and talking through the evolution of her single 'YES' and how she feels authentic in the video.
June Special episode filmed in Brighton for The Great Escape Festival, newcomer AU/RA joins Vick to talk to her about the festival and her own personal experiences of music and being an up and coming artist. Tom Grennan talks about the festival and about his headline position on The Box Fresh Stage, including Tom’s performance of ‘Found What I’ve Been Looking For’.
July Recording and songwriting excellence MNEK joins Vick to talk about songwriting, including for July's Fresh Focus Becky Hill. James Arthur also talks about his music journey and his new album in the making, including the video for his collaboration 'You Can Cry' with Marshmello and Juicy J. Box Fresh alumni Stefflon Don gives an update on her music career.
August Kiss FM’s Alex Mansuroglu joins Vick in the studio, giving his views on the UK acts he’s predicting will break America, including Box Fresh artists Jorja Smith and Yxng Bane, and Steel Banglez. DJ Sigala talks about his latest collaboration ‘Feels Like Home’ with Fuse ODG, Sean Paul and Kent Jones and how they all jumped on the track. Professor Green talks about his return to music after a 3-year break, and how his decision to stop filming documentaries.
September US Artist Elle King talks to Vick about her upbringing, her new album and her 2016 hit single 'Ex's and Oh's', and songwriting. Box Fresh alumni RAYE talks about her new single 'Friends' and how it is to write your own hit singles. DJ duo Blonde, along with latest collaborator Bryn Christopher, talk their new single 'Me, Myself & I', and about how it is to write songs for themselves and other artists.

Fresh on Fridays[edit]

Each and every Friday, the team at The Box Plus Network's digital online channel BeBox invite an emerging artist to perform two of their songs, the 10 minute episodes are then uploaded onto the Box Plus YouTube channel at 5pm. One of the performances is then shown the following Friday throughout the day on Box Upfront and 4Music.

Before the Box Fresh brand was launched, 'Fresh on Fridays' existed in the form of 'BeBox Live Sessions', these were broadcast live on the BeBox Facebook page and on the Box Plus YouTube channel from the studio located within the Box Plus office (where Trending Live! is presented from), the artist would also have a short Q&A with Will Best, Jimmy Hill or one of the BeBox team (the first eight episodes of 'Fresh on Fridays' followed this format before being pre-recorded). No episodes have been made or uploaded since the last performance on 15 Dec 2017.

Box Fresh at The Great Escape[edit]

During May 2017, Box Fresh teamed up with The Great Escape Festival in Brighton to provide their own Box Fresh Stage, the stage hosted four acts on the first day of the festival at The Old Market.

4Music's flagship show Trending Live! was also broadcast live from Brighton from an apartment opposite Brighton Pier on the day of the Box Fresh Stage. Avelino, Croox, The Amazons and Will Heard all appeared on the special. Jimmy Hill, AJ Odudu and Box Fresh host (and regular Trending Live! presenter) Vick Hope all presented the show from 4pm until 6pm.

On 1 May 2018, it was announced that the Box Fresh stage would return to the festival once again, this time across the whole three day span. June’s Fresh Forward will be dedicated to highlights from across the whole festival and the Box Fresh stage, and Trending Live will have interviews and performances with the artist throughout May.
