Bradley Ackerman (born August 20, 1986) is an American musician / actor best known as the drummer of season 8 American Idol winner Kris Allen.[1]

Bradley is a Nashville / Los Angeles based professional drummer [2] / actor / touring professional who has played and/or toured in several different facets with Artists such as Kris Allen (American Idol: Season 8 Winner), Danny Gokey (Award winning CCM Artist), Tasji Bachman, Jessica Mack (CMT's Music City), Adam Hambrick, Rob Vischer, Eli Young Band, Lexi Lauren and Luke Bryan. Originally from Dayton, OH; Bradley moved to Nashville in 2009 to explore and pursue his career, both creatively and professionally. With a passion for music at a young age, Bradley began playing drums at the age of 7, where at the age of 10 he began playing in small hometown bands and in churches throughout central Ohio. After being in Nashville for a few years, he took his first gig in 2014, joining the band of Kris Allen (American Idol season 8 winner). Along with the artists he has played with, Bradley has opened for and shared stages with artists such as Cheryl Crow, Boyce Avenue, Chris Lane, Barenaked Ladies, Sister Hazel, High Valley, Josh Turner, Ben Rector, Phillip Phillips, Drew Holcomb, For King and Country, and the Sidewalk Prophets.

Early life[edit]

Bradley William Ackerman was born in Dayton, Ohio on August 20, 1986. Ackerman is the oldest of 3 brothers and one sister. With a passion for music at a young age, Ackerman began playing drums at the age of 7. Ackerman went on to focus on his education. He attended West Carrollton High School, where he graduated from in 2005. Following his high school career, Ackerman went on to attend the University of Dayton, as well as the University of Phoenix, where he graduated in 2012.

In 2010, Ackerman went on to form his first band "AllentonHill" with childhood friend Tim Allen. Allen and Ackerman, along with other members, went on to release their first single "Fireworks" on July 10th, 2010.[3]

Ackerman landed his first endorsement deal with Canadian Cymbal Company "Heartbeat Percussion" in 2014, right before the start of his tour with Kris Allen, opening up for Boyce Avenue for their "No Limits" tour.[4]

Kris Allen[edit]

Between 2014 and 2016, Ackerman was the drummer for Season 8 American Idol Winner Kris Allen. He appeared on Kris Allen Horizon album tour. Prior to the Horizons tour, the band toured and opened for the Orlando based band Boyce Avenue for their No Limits tour.[6] [7]

From 2013 – present date, Ackerman has played and or toured with artist such as Danny Gokey Eli Young Band Luke Bryan Adam Hambrick Tasji Bachman Lexi Lauren and more. Ackerman is currently playing for American based artists Tasji Bachman and Lexi Lauren.

Personal life[edit]

Ackerman currently resides in Nashville, Tennessee, where he has lived since 2009. In 2009 he moved from Dayton, Ohio to Nashville to pursue his music career.
