Breast Massage or full chest massage is the massage (painless manipulation) of the breast and chest of a woman or a man performed within the context of an overall wellness masse or for specific medical reasons. The practice aims to gently treat the breast as part of the whole body and de-sexualize the sexual stigma often associated with the female breast.

Description[edit]

Women's Health describes in an article "What Exactly Is A Breast Massage And How Do You Do It?" 2020 describes the practice as as meant to be a practice of self-love, first of all, and if done correctly and with consent from the client, it can help with stress relief, improving circulation, and releasing pain and breast tenderness." <ref>"What Exactly Is A Breast Massage And How Do You Do It?".

It generally involves undraping of the chest but can be performed through the sheet. <ref>"Benefits of Breast & Chest Massage".

Purposes[edit]

The goal of breast massage can be medical or emotional. Medical reasons may include issues with the Lymphatic system (MLD) which is a specialized form of soft tissue manipulation. Often described as "massage", it is really a separate discipline. Emotional reasons vary, from Breast Cancer survivors who often report a disconnection to their chest to women who simply want to feel the choice is theirs.
