Early life and education[edit]

Brandt grew up in Lawton, Oklahoma and discovered his entrepreneurial spirit at an early age. Before the age of 16, he sold peanuts, started a recycling enterprise, held a consistent job sweeping floors, and taught tennis lessons. He attended the University of Oklahoma, where he graduated in 1988 after earning a bachelor’s degree in accounting and serving as head coach of the women’s tennis team.[2]

Career[edit]

Over the course of his career, Brandt has held leadership roles at two large Christian camps and served as executive pastor of a church. In 2008, he received his Master’s in Global Leadership from Fuller Theological Seminary, and in 2012 he founded Core Insights based out of Tyler, Texas. Through Core Insights, Brandt and his team provide leadership training, strategic planning, and coaching to companies, non-profits, schools, ministries, and individuals.[3] He is also the Regional Director for Dale Carnegie trainings in the East Texas area. [4]

Blind Spots: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You[edit]

In 2019, Brandt published Blind Spots: What You Don't Know Can Hurt You, co-authored with Ashley Kutach. The book aims to help in "identifying and dealing with the behaviors, attitudes, and habits you’re not even aware of that keep you from being and doing your best". Ryan M. Akins, Regional President at Dale Carnegie, has called it "one of the best leadership books [he has] ever read".[5]
