Brian C. Carroll

Brian C. Carroll (born March 17, 1976) is the executive vice president at Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida.

Education[edit]

Carroll graduated with his bachelor's of science in business administration in 2006 and master's of business administration in 2007 from Southeastern University in Lakeland, Florida. He earned his Ph.D. in organizational leadership from Regent University in Virginia Beach, Virginia, with a dissertation entitled "Servant Leadership Theory Cross-Culturally: A Comparative Study Between India and the United States." Carroll is also expecting to complete a master's of liberal arts in extension studies from Harvard University in fall of 2016.

In addition, Carroll has also completed the Program on Negotiation, an executive education program, at Harvard Law School. He has also earned a certificate of graduate study in entrepreneurship from Regent University.[1]

Career[edit]

Carroll has over 20 years of experience in organizational leadership and business development within Fortune 500 companies, multinationals, NGO's, non-profits,and higher education. He worked his way up from a managerial role to CEO for a privately held construction management and consulting company. Prior to coming to Southeastern, Carroll was the director of Founders Circle at Convoy of Hope (COH), an international aid and disaster relief organization. As director, he was responsible for the development of a global development and advancement program for major donors and corporations. He also planned, organized and implemented a series of international vision and advancement trips for partner resourcing, leadership and business development to Africa, Central America and the Caribbean.[2]

Executive Vice President of Southeastern University[edit]

Carroll was name the executive vice president of Southeastern University in 2013. In this role, he provides oversight for all university operational activities and is responsible for raising significant funds for major projects, scholarship and general operations. He also leads the development and execution of key strategic initiatives and analyzes the university's financial operations to identify opportunities and areas that require change. Carroll coordinates growth efforts with the university's executive team and oversees public relations, alumni relations, church relations, and corporate and foundational relations. Additionally, he has direct oversight of all university legal affairs and is a registered agent of the university.

In Carroll's position, he has working in collaboration with the president, vice presidents, and other department leaders to reorganize and remove barriers to creativity and innovation. In the last five years, Southeastern University has increased enrollment by more than 2,000 students and added several new curricular and co-curricular programs, including a new doctorate of education, nursing, and graphic design, football, softball and golf. They have also increased student involvement in the community through creating student engagement opportunities, which led to students volunteering more than 30,000 hours in the local community in the past academic year. Prior to being named the executive vice president, Carroll worked as the vice president for advancement at Southeastern University.
