Brian David Gilbert
Brian David Gilbert (born January 29th, 1994), also known as "BDG" is an American performer, video producer and musician. He is mostly known for his work at Polygon, an American video game website. There, he mainly creates a series called "Unraveled", in which he explores video game logic and lore. Apart from that, he produces videos for his own YouTube channel, is a member of the band "The Altogether" and co-hosts the podcast "Let's Make A Music".

Gilbert was born in Baltimore, Maryland, on January 29th 1994 as the youngest of three siblings. He has a brother called Patrick Gilbert and a sister called Laura Kathryn Gilbert.
He studied at Johns Hopkins University, where he earned an Bachelor of Arts in Writing Seminars and Cognitive Science.
Career[edit]
After creating his YouTube channel in 2012, he made a first successful video in 2016 of the title, "Best Comeback Ever", which, as of December 2020, has garnered 6.7 million views. While most of his work since 2017 has been for Polygon, as of 2020 he continues to make videos for this channel.[1][2][3]
In September 2017, applied to the role of a video producer at Polygon, for which he made a video cover letter. In December 2017, he was officially announced as Polygon's new video producer. Since then, he has mainly been creating a video series called "Unraveled", in which he explores video game logic and lore to absurd extremes.[4][5][6][7][8][9][10] He also regularly appears in other Polygon videos. For example, he regularly features in Polygon's board game series "Overboard".[1] In late 2020, Gilbert left his job at Polygon in order to pursue 'bigger, stranger, less referential projects'.[11]
He also is part of the band "The Altogether", which he formed with Jonah Scott in 2012 as "Scott & Gilbert". They have released several singles, EPs and one album, "Silo".[12]
From November 2017 to October 2018, he co-hosted the comedy podcast "Let's Make A Music" with Jonah Scott and Laura Kathryn Gilbert.[13] After it went on a hiatus in 2018, it returned in 2020, now with Jonah Scott in a producing role and introducing Karen Han as a new co-host.[13]
