Brian Andrew Dunne (May 8, 1989) is an American singer and songwriter from New York.[1]. After a pair of acclaimed albums, he released the album Selling Things on April 10, 2020 [2]. His music weaves through themes of existential anxiety and the search for meaning, alongside his own brand of sardonic humor [3]

Early Life[edit]

Dunne was born in the Hudson Valley and raised in a working-class background [4]. His father worked in a factory and his mother was a secretary. He began playing guitar at 6 years old.

Career[edit]

Dunne moved to New York in 2011[5] and began playing around the city, granting him attention from Atlantic Records and releasing a pair of acclaimed albums —2015’s ‘Songs From The Hive’[6] and 2017’s ‘Bug Fixes and Performance Improvements’— that garnered frequent airplay on SiriusXM[7] and helped land him tour dates with Cat Power and Justin Townes Earle to Rosanne Cash and The Secret Sisters, alongside high profile spots at The Philadelphia Folk Festival[8] and NPR's Mountain Stage. His 2020 release, "Selling Things" was released to critical acclaim[9], with Rolling Stone[10] calling the lead single a "stunner." His song "New Tattoo" became a radio fixture in the Netherlands[11], and in March of 2022, he will embark on a headline tour of the country. He is also working on his 4th LP, poised to be released in 2023.

Personal Life[edit]

Dunne lives in Brooklyn, NY with his wife and cat.
