Brian Kobashikawa
Brian Kobashikawa is a Senior Staff UX Designer at Google on AI products for Google Cloud Platform. He composed the foundational user experience for Google's AutoML products, which simplify the machine learning process for non-experts.[1] [2] He created Yahoo! Instant Messenger's smiley logo,[3] and holds several user experience patents.[4]
Career
Brian studied Design at University of California, Los Angeles. He graduated from the School of Arts and Architecture in 1999 and then joined Yahoo where he led visual design for Yahoo Mail, Calendar, and Address Book. From 2002–2008, he designed for Yahoo! Instant Messenger. In 2008, Brian joined San Francisco based software startup Xobni, which was acquired by Yahoo in July 2013.[5] After an additional 2 years and 3 months at Yahoo, Brian joined Google's Material Design team before joining Google Cloud in 2017.[6]
