Brian Thompson is an American businessman and the current CEO of UnitedHealthcare, the largest health insurer in the United States.[1]
Thompson began his career as an auditor at PwC, where he worked for six years before joining UnitedHealth in 2004. He headed UnitedHealth's government programs, including the departments of Medicare & Retirement and Community & State, before being appointed CEO in 2021.[2]
Thompson previously served as the financial controller of UnitedHealthcare's Employer & Individual division. As of 2021, he owned approximately 0.1% of UnitedHealth in stock and stock options.[3]
