Bright Nana Amfoh is a Ghanaian journalist.[1] He is a Senior News Editor at Metro TV and a co-presenter of news programmes on the TV channel. He previously worked at Tv3 Network where he notably held the roles of co-presenter of evening news programme, News 360, host of the morning breakfast show, Tv3 New Day, and moderator of the current affairs programme, Hot Issues.[2][3]
Early life[edit]
Bright Nana Amfoh is a Fante who hails from Breman Kuntanse in Asikuma Odoben. Amfoh attended Breman Asikuma Secondary School and Accra Academy for his secondary education. After this, he had his National Service in Twifo Praso and Tumu, in the Central and Upper West regions. He received a B. A. in Political Science in 2000 from University of Ghana, and subsequently obtained a master's degree in Mass Communication after studies at University of Ghana.[2]
Career[edit]
In 2003, Amfoh was accepted to Tv3 as a reporter. He stayed at Tv3 as a reporter until 2006 when he joined Net 2 Television. After spending time at Net 2, he returned to Tv3 and had the opportunity to report on the 2010 World Cup in South Africa. In 2013, Amfoh left Tv3 again to join Multimedia Group Limited as a Senior News Editor. In 2014, Amfoh rejoined TV3 from Joy News to host the station's flagship morning show; New Day.[4]
While at Tv3, Amfoh hosted all the news programs on Tv3, and worked in several editorial positions. Before leaving Tv3, he was the deputy assignments manager and assignment editor at Media General (TV3 Network Ltd, ONUA TV and FM, CONNECT FM, AKOMA FM, and 3NEWS). In these roles, he coordinated news crew on the ground and in various locations, and also coordinated regional correspondents and stringers to report on issues in neglected communities. Amfoh also hosted programmes such as Hot Issues and Business Today.[3]
Amfoh has been ranked amongst the top fifty Ghanaian journalist by Avance Media.[5]
In December 2021, Amfoh's former colleague at TV3, Bridget Otoo revealed via a social media post that Amfoh had exited TV3 and will be joining her at Metro TV.[3]
