Brighter AI Technologies is a German artificial intelligence startup founded in 2017[1]. The company is based in Berlin and focuses on the development of deep neural networks to generate and enhance visual data.

History[edit]

Brighter AI was a spin-off from the incubator of automotive supplier Hella[2][3]. Brighter AI's first use cases emerged around vision for car drivers, driving assistance systems and autonomous vehicles[4]. With GDPR entering into force in the EU, the startup started anonymizing personal identifiers through generating artificial faces and license plates and placing them on top of the raw image data[5][6]. Some of the investors are Giesecke+Devrient and Hella (company). Brighter AI received various awards and is partner of the Deutsche Bahn[7][8][9][10][11].

Technology[edit]

Brighter AI develops artificial intelligence and computer vision to reconstruct images. For this task, deep learning methods such as generative adversarial networks (GANs) are employed. Some of the company's research efforts are published in form of scientific articles[12].
