Dutch Colonies in British India consisted of settlements and trading posts under control of the Dutch East India Company. Dutch India did not have a political authority but rather was a geographical location. There were numerous conflicts between the British Raj and the Dutch. To resolve these rivalry conflicts, the Anglo-Dutch treaty was signed in 1824. This treaty demarcated the interests of the British and Dutch in South East Asia thereby preventing further conflict.
