Brittany Chrishawn Williams, better known as Brittany Chrishawn, was born August 28, 1990 in Jacksonville, FL. She is a Jamaican American actress, writer, producer, and vocalist and known for NBC's The Night Shift.

Early life[edit]

Brittany grew up with a Jamaican father, American mother, and 4 sisters.[1] At the age of 5 she began writing her own songs and performing them in her family's living room.[2] By the time she reached her teen years, she'd grown accustomed to performing in her church and school (Victory Christian Academy) choirs.[3] And before high school, her mother put her in acting, modeling, and vocal classes.[4]

She later attended high school at Paxon SAS where she took chorus with Deborah McDuffie[5] - the first woman composer and producer of the advertising industry[6] who'd previously worked with artists like Patti LaBelle, Janet Jackson, and Luther Vandross to name a few.[7] Deborah McDuffie invited Brittany to join her Jacksonville Mass Choir (JMAC) where she went on to perform as a back up singer for George Huff at the Apollo Theater.[8][9] At age 16 Brittany performed a solo piece of an original song she'd written at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, NV.[10]

In 2012, Brittany graduated with 2 bachelor's degrees from the University of Central Florida (UCF) where she received Baccalaureate Honors and Recognition by the university's Burnett Honors College.[11] She also wrote a thesis that is published in the UCF Library.[2][12]

Career[edit]

Brittany is currently a co-producer at ArtByTrade Productions where she co-writes screenplays like the award nominated T.V. script GUN.[13] Through ArtByTrade, she also serves as a music composer, film director, editor, and videographer.[14] She's known for her involvement in The Night Shift (2016), Pills N Potions (2014), and Fest of Fear (2016) starring Robert Davi.[15][16][17][18] Brittany also appears in IT Cosmetics commercials for Bye Bye Foundation.[19]
