Buddhan Chirikkunnu (English: Buddha smiles) is an upcoming 2014 Malayalam film directed by R. Sarath. The film stars Indrans in the lead role and co-stars Jagadish, Nedumudi Venu, Nandhu, P. Balachandran, Praveena, Sharvari Jamenis, and Malavika Menon in supporting roles.[3][4][5][6]

Plot

The film revolves around the story of Indraguptan (Indrans), a comedian actor, who is drastically charmed by the life of comedy legend Charlie Chaplin and tries to imitate him in his own life.[7]

Production

It was in news that actresses Asha Sarath and Lakshmi Gopalaswamy has denied to play the female lead role in the film opposite Indrans. Later the director R. Sarath himself clarified that it was just gossip.[8][9] Later Praveena was confirmed to play the role.[10][11] The shooting of the film is progressing at Sasthamkotta‎ and Kollam.[12]
