Artists and other professionals working in the Burundi entertainment industry who meet certain criteria will submit their work for considerations. Submitted works are required to meet certain requirements and created within the specified qualifying period. Entries are made only via official Buja Music Awards website.
Once work is submitted, the awards committee with the assistance of industry professionals gather to determine category allocation for each work. Each submitted work is considered for multiple categories if it meets category requirement. They are usually five spots per category and the committee will vote to determine which top five are to remain in the category. There may be more than five nominees if there is a tie in the nomination process.
Final Voting Process[edit]
After nominees have been determine released, online voting is open to the public for a period of 30–60 days. Upon closing of the public voting system, the three judges are called upon to vote.
