The Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce (BSCC)(in Bulgarian: Българо-швейцарска търговска камара) is a non-profit organisation. The purpose of the Chamber is to encourage and promote the commercial and economic relations between the Swiss Confederation and the Republic of Bulgaria, to represent and protect the economic interests of its members and to provide services contributing to attainment of the Chamber's goals. The association is seated in Sofia, Bulgaria and offers information, contacts and services to its members and partners from both countries. Among its members are enterprises from all sectors of the economy, producers, big international consortia, exporters, importers, as well as small and medium-sized enterprises. The Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce offers business contacts, information and consulting services to its members, as well as to clients who are not members of the Chamber from both countries, including but not limited to market research, partner search etc. (see services). Since the beginning of 2012, BSCC provides information and services to the business and investors’ community in co-operation with the Swiss Embassy in Sofia, Bulgaria, which is an ex-officio member of the Managing Board of the Chamber.

History[edit]

The Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce was established at the end of 2004.[1] The history of the Chamber started back in 1994 when, upon the initiative of Swiss and Bulgarian organizations and companies, the Bulgaria-Switzerland Business Club was established in Sofia. The purpose of the club was to improve the economic relations between both countries and the exchange of current information between members and interested circles. In 2004, due to the increased interest towards establishing business contacts and with the aim of assisting enterprises from both countries, the members of the Business Club took a decision to transform it. The Business Club was closed by a decision of the General Meeting and its members continued cooperating within the frame of the newly established Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce. Nowadays, the main objective of the Bulgarian-Swiss Chamber of Commerce is to assist and stimulate the economic and commercial relations between Bulgaria and Switzerland.
