Pupil, Inc., doing business as BuzzOptics, is an American remanufacturer of ophthalmic medical devices, and manufacturer of eyeglasses based in Denver, Colorado.[1] BuzzOptics sells its devices and other products primarily on its website in North America.

History

The company was founded in 2015 in Denver, Colorado, and is headquartered in Denver, Colorado. BuzzOptics originally offered refractive eye exams, free to the public at its retail location in Denver's River North Art District utilizing proprietary optical and refractive equipment. [2] The company began remanufacturing pre-owned ophthalmic instruments in 2017, and now sells over 50 different devices primarily in North America and the Caribbean.

The company's retail location was featured in Travel + Leisure's coverage of "Denver's Hottest Street," in the Spring of 2018[3] referring to the shop as 'thoughtful and minimal.'

In the Summer of 2018, the company quietly announced plans to suspend retail operations, and rebranded as BuzzOptics, selling its instrumentation solely online.

Online Model

The company primarily sells remanufactured ophthalmic medical equipment online throughout the United States, Mexico and Canada. The remanufacturing of medical devices consists of the rebuilding, refurbishment, and servicing of pre-owned devices back to their original factory specifications.[4]
