Cédric Houin is an explorer, observer, photographer, filmmaker, visual artist, writer and music composer.
He is known since 1998 as Varial* in the visual art world, and as Bastián de Luka in the music industry

He was born in Paris in 1978.
He lived and worked 10 years in Montreal, Canada as a multi-plateform visual artist where he produce over 400 images for the advertising industry.
Since 2010 he has been travelling around the planet as a nomadic author helping communities and foundations with his photographic, film, design and communication skills and vision.
His work has been published in several languages in National Geographic, National Geographic Traveler, The Smithsonian Magazine, The New York Times, the Globe and Mail, Wider Magazine, BBC, CNN,
His image Butterfly from Afghanistan won the 2012 Annual Photo Contest of National geographic Traveler.
