Celine Hofstetter (born November 24, 1993 in Zurich, Switzerland) is an artist and photographer from Switzerland who's based in Los Angeles, California.
Career[edit]
Hofstetter was born and raised in Switzerland where she studied Business Administration and Marketing. She's the daughter of artist Gerry Hofstetter. She has a younger sister named Sandrine. Hofstetter was a former professional figure skater from 1998 to 2010. She speaks German, French, English and Spanish.[1][2][3]
Like her father, Hofstetter is a light artist and photographer. She started painting for her father's light shows at a young age. When she was eight years old, she created a light painting depicting a polar bear which was then illuminated on an iceberg in Greenland.[4] At the age of 15, Hofstetter started accompanying her father on climate change awareness expeditions to Greenland. On the 100th anniversary of Titanic's maiden voyage, Hofstetter and her father projected life sized images of the ship on a 500m long iceberg off of Greenland.[5]
As an artist, Hofstetter has worked with the Swiss Embassy, Swiss Airlines, European Space Agency and the China World Expo among others.[6] She also coordinated a light art show in Norway for the opening of the Nandsen Amundsen museum for the King of Norway.
In 2017, Hofstetter and her father travelled across all 50 U.S. states illuminating national landmarks in all states with light shows.[7][8][9] The project, called the Light Art Grand Tour USA ran from 2017 to 2019.[10][11][12]
She currently runs her own light art illuminations company "Hofstetter" with her father.[13]
