C.V. Ranganathan was the Joint Foreign Secretary of India, High Commissioner to Hong Kong, Ambassador to Ethiopia, Ambassador to the Soviet Union, Ambassador to China, and Ambassador to France[1][2]. He is known for his body of scholarship on Indo-Chinese relations and diplomacy.[3]
He is a member of the Calamur Viravalli family, grandson to Sir C. P. Ramaswamy Iyer, and brother-in-law to M.R. Srinivasan.
