Jason Alex, commonly known by his stage name CASHCULT, is an American DJ and musician from San Diego.
Biography[edit]
Jason Alex became interested in dance music when he was 12 years old, after discovering music from artists such as Fatboy Slim[1] and Moby. He started producing his own dance music in 2010, after acquiring the digital music software Ableton. He produced along side of some of today’s industry leading house music producers. After signing a deal with Plasmapool Records, his music quickly climbed the charts and his track “I’m Gonna Lick it” while a member of the DJ Duo Sadies Bens. I'm gonna lick it sat at the #1 spot for many weeks on the top 10 house tracks on Beatport. In 2020 CASHCULT finished several professional certificates in the fields of audio engineering and production. Around this time he decided on his artist name, CASHCULT. After this he gained attention, with several of his songs topping charts on Beatport as well as accumulating thousands of plays on digital music platforms such as SoundCloud and Beatport. Mixing groovy, with clean, sexy bass house music, CASHCULT's unique sound emerges among the new wave of house producers. Refusing to impersonate his idols, but instead taking inspiration, CASHCULT aims for something different and unheard of.[2]
Releasing his songs officially through Zerocool Records, Backroom Records and Angry Dog Records, CASHCULT has quickly become an up-and-coming dance and house music artist. His first single, Freedom, was released January 20, 2014 via Zerocool Records
In 2022 he released the song "BREAK IT" which incorporates previously unreleased vocals.
