CKL Africa Ltd (formerly Cooper K-Brands Ltd[1]) is a leading supplier[2] of high quality poultry, animal health and crop production inputs[3] in Kenya, East and Central Africa headquartered in Nairobi, Kenya, and founded in 1906[4].

It engages in the manufacture and supplier of poultry, animal health and crop production inputs. It so far have 13 Strategic business partners across the world, 16 distributors, 6,000 stockists and serves more than 45,000 farmers across the region.

It had over 200+ employees as of May 2022.

History[edit]

It began as a subsidiary of a British firm, Coopers, as a dealer in animal health products. Then in 1990, the company changed hands to become a locally-owned firm, expanding its remit beyond animal health to a whole range of agricultural inputs and animal nutrition.

CKL Africa is a member[5] of The United Nations Global Compact.

CKL Africa focus on CSR initiatives aligned to giving back to the community and the environment.

The initiatives are in line with the efforts for a sustainable environment[6], social initiatives[7] aligned to the 17 Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) set up in 2015 by the United Nations General Assembly; SDG 2, SDG12 and SDG 15. Lastly, economic[8] initiatives to empower the society.
