COLOR FILTER started as a unit led by Ryuji Tsuneyoshi, debuting in the United States and subsequently releasing numerous works primarily focused on overseas audiences. The Flaming Lips highly praised their sound as an embodiment of their own psychedelia. In 2002, they performed at SXSW. Their sound can be described as mellow psychedelia encompassing ambient, shoe-gazer, breakbeats, and techno elements, and it secretly anticipated genres like "Dream Pop," which has now gained recognition. This unique presence was ahead of its time here in Tokyo. Once again, in 2023, the sound deserves to be "rediscovered." They are making a fresh start with new vocalist MINAMI TAGA.
