COMINT Consulting is an American communications intelligence (COMINT) and signals intelligence (SIGINT) company, established in 2008.[1] The company is known for developing signals classifications and decoding technologies used by the allied intelligence community.[2] The company is based in Denver, Colorado.

History[edit]

COMINT Consulting was established in 2008. The company produces software suites used to perform signals collection, analysis, decoding, classification and signature measurements for transmissions in the radio frequency spectrum for the NATO and Allied intelligence community.[3][4] These technologies are mainly used to monitor and prevent covert and clandestine activity in the radio-frequency spectrum.[5]

The company is most well-known for developing the Krypto500 and Krypto1000 software applications suites, which are used to categorize radio frequency signals for use with software defined radio and direction finding systems.[6][7] The Krypto series software is mainly used by military and civilian intelligence agencies to monitor radio frequency communications in high-risk regions.[8]

Both the Krypto500 and Krypto1000 suites are used in portable SIGINT manpacks by the United States and allied nations.[1]

COMINT Consulting also develops decoders for target signals occurring in the HF, VHF, UHF, ELF and SHF ranges.[9]

In July 2020, Anritsu partnered with COMINT Consulting to add SIGINT capability to Anritsu spectrum analyzers.[10][11]
